Editing Spreadsheet Cells

Cell data can be entered and edited by either typing directly into the cells or by selecting a cell and editing its contents in the long cell edit box above the spreadsheets. To edit a cell directly, i.e. within the cell rather than in the cell edit box, and without overwriting its contents it must first be put in to edit mode. That is done by double clicking on the cell or by pressing the F2 key. To leave edit mode press the Escape key, F2 key or navigate to another cell using the mouse or a navigation keystroke, e.g. Tab or Enter. If the cell is not put in to edit mode before the user starts typing in the cell then any previous data will be overwritten.

The data in DataLoad's spreadsheets' cells can contain multiple lines and characters such as Tabs. This data is best entered via the long cell edit box above the spreadsheets. To expand this and put it in multi line mode press Alt+Enter or click the down arrow at the right end of the edit box. Now when Enter and Tab, etc, are pressed they add a new line and tab, respectively, to the data rather than navigating to the next spreadsheet cell. To close the multi line edit box click the mouse anywhere outside of this box or click the up arrow at the right end of the edit box.
